Louise began her career as a rural GP in South Gippsland, before moving to Sydney and now Canberra. Louise was the Senior Medical Advisor for Australian GP training for 10 years, reflecting a longstanding commitment to medical education. She has clinical, teaching, policy and research expertise in GP mental health and is a Professional Lead in the Masters of Psychiatric Medicine program at HETI, NSW Health. She is known for her research in medically unexplained symptoms but recently, she has been the chief investigator for a qualitative research program exploring the lived experiences of doctors who have been sexually abused by other doctors.
She has three children, a spoiled cat and an interest in music.
