Dr Justin Nasser

Bond University

After completing medical school at the University of Queensland, Dr Nasser commenced residency and then specialist training at the Gold Coast Hospital (GCH). He subsequently did sub-specialty training as a Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Ultrasound at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. Dr Nasser was awarded a Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) and then returned to the GCH as a Staff Specialist. He is now working toward a Masters of Reproductive Medicine.

Dr Nasser’s special interest areas are in the diagnosis and management of high risk pregnancies and he has developed the tertiary ultrasound facilities and the Birth Centre at GCH. He sits on several management committees at GCH.

He has expertise in minimal access surgery and minimally invasive management of menstrual irregularities through new generation endometrial ablation techniques. He has recently set up in private practice and joined Monash IVF as well as maintaining his clinical and supervisory duties in the public system.

Dr Nasser holds academic titles at Bond (Ass/Prof) and Griffith Uni (Snr Lecturer), is a Training Supervisor and examiner for the Royal College of O&Gs and has presented at local and international conferences, published journal articles and written textbook chapters.

Despite all of this, Justin says his greatest achievement was balancing work/life/study while having three beautiful children under three years of age ( to which he gives credit to his partner).

“I try to provide a holistic approach to Women’s Health and am happy to discuss all aspects of care and management with patients. I respect women’s autonomy to make informed decisions about their care. I understand that the ‘journey’ as well as the ‘destination’ is important when it comes to achieving pregnancy and childbirth and am privileged to be involved in the delivery of healthy babies to healthy mothers.”
